Multimedia Theatre Education Programme (2000 – 2006)

Zuni first staged the “Multimedia Theatre Education Programme” in year 2000, and then jointly organized this project with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department from 2001 onwards. The project brought a multimedia theatre, which Zuni had been experimenting for many years, to the schools. Precise, detailed and complicated multimedia variety performances were broken down into different independent systems, thus enable students to think about the various theoretical and technical aspects of theatre, performance, creation, self and society in a systematic way.

The targets of this programme were secondary school students, and each year there was a different theme. The project was divided into 3 phases spanning over a period of about 9 months. In the first phase, there was performance touring around the schools. Then, artists from different disciplines led the students to participate in multimedia art workshops (theatre, drama/ performance, text, sound/ music, video, visual/ installation and technical skills for the stage). The final phase was the joint-school performance and installation exhibition, which gave the students a chance to create and put their ideas in practice.
