Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre
16-18/10/2009
Presented & Produced by Zuni Icosahedron
Corbu and Kahn is a performance with 2 parts built around the ideas of the two masters on architecture. The 1st part is on Le Corbusier and the 2nd part is on Louis I. Kahn.
Part One – Une Petite Maison
Une Petit Maison is a text on the design philosophy of Le Corbusier. "A house is a machine for living in", Le Corbusier believed, and "the arrangement is practical and spatially economical, with a minimum use of space for each function". These are the concept and conditions for the plan of the little house.
Part Two – The Life and Times of Louis I. Kahn
Kahn could be seen as a philosopher on modernism. Local showbiz veteran Kam Kwok Leung is invited to play the role of Louis I. Kahn, allowing the audience to catch a glimpse of the life this master architect of humanism, as well as to learn more about his works and ideas of creativity. The performance will be made more poignant with the participation of Jason Choi, who will experiment on the music of Mozart.
