The Trial – Awakening
Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre
15-16/11/2013 (Fri, Sat) 8pm
17/11/2013 (Sun) 3pm

Presented & Produced by Zuni Icosahedron

In Collaboration with Jiangsu Performing Arts Group Kun Opera House

Programme of “ARCHITECTURE IS ART FESTIVAL 2013”

The stage of The Trial is an experimental space formed by four mirrors. The concept of the performances comes from Kafka’s novel of the same title. The performance of The Trial includes three new original experimental pieces, Awakening, Cool Wind Whispers and Contempt.

Awakening is a surreal time travelling experimental theatre work. The performance is divided into six segments (the ebb and flow of the tides, man and heaven, dazed and confused, day in day out, ethereal world, the real self). Through multi-media installations, the stage changes constantly from swimming pool to ocean, to land of snow, sea of clouds, stagnant water and dried well. We witness Kunqu masters Shi Xiaomei and Gong Yinlei, as well as contemporary dance virtuoso Miranda Chin, looking for new visions in a space built of mirror walls.
